unable to enter ssh password in terminal

Before go into the deep: be sure your system is fully upgraded, to check:
open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get clean all
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get clean all
sud apt-get autoremove

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

unable to input ssh password in terminal - after typing it in (I know your not supposed to see any asterisk) and hitting "enter" it (enter key) doesn't work and must hit "enter" (enter key) again to send, then remote server says "permission denied try again" - btw - I know its the right password - I have no problem when using xterm but not in ubuntu gnome terminal.

Can you update your local pc...?
If you are in trouble on your local pc password, please press CTRL+ALT+F2 and open a virtual terminal make login with your user and password and try to fully upgrade your system. Type the above commands.

Restart Ubuntu then retry.

If this don't solve you must check (copy and paste here) the remote /etc/ssh/sshd_config file.
