I believe I downloaded the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries in Openoffice but can't see Hebrew text or a way to choose it to type inl.
I am still puzzled, probably because I am so new to Ubuntu, about how to install Hebrew and Greek fonts in Open Office, despite the success of one user with Bible Works and another in finding Hebrew and Greek Fonts. I was hoping to do after downloading some packages requested by th Language Settings menu. Hebrew and Greek are starred but no fonts show up and the keyboard continues to type exclusively in English. Can someoe ne go painstakingly, step by step, through the process, from beginning to end for me?

I apologize for opening separate threads on Launch pad for this but no one has give me an answer that I can understand for solving the question in Open Office about being able to go back and forth in a text between Hebrew and English or Hebrew and Greek. I went through using Hebrew as my main language which changed the language of the desktop but did not give me as far as I could see the capacity to switch back to English on the fly. I am used to the Mac Os where a flag for different languages sits on top of the toolbar and can be used in multiple word processors. While Hebrew shows up in documents that I wrote in .rtf format on the Mac, and shows up correctly, I cannot type in Hebrew in Open Office. One cryptic message says open pgpkeys, but I don't know what that means.
Thank you in advance for listening and I think I do understand now about sticking to the original thread.
