how can I update open office 2.4 for Ubuntu

I need to update open office 2.4 for ubuntu but I dont have any knowledge about software programing or anything like that I just need a version that comes with spell check support for spanish language

In Gnome...
System Menu --> Administration --> Language Support --> "Install Language" Button
Choose the language you want - It looks like Castilian Spanish is the only option there
Choose Basic, Extra and Spellchecking checkboxes, and click the "Apply Changes" button.
Then...
In OOO, go to...
Tools-->Options-->Language Settings--> Set your default languages to Spanish

It didn't worked I already had spanish lenguage set as a default.wtf

Can you please provide the output of:

lsb_release -a

zvacet, you do not know if s/he is using hardy. s/he may be using jaunty

If you use this guide, you can add PPA repositories and use synaptic:

It also covers all the currently supported releases.

I she/he is using jaunty she/he will not ask for upgrade from 2.4 .
