turn on spellcheck

Hi All
Back again with a different problem.
So thank you, for the help I keep getting.
How do I turn on spell check in Open Office? The first time I installed Ubuntu it worked, this time it doesn't. I have not been able to work out how to turn it on, or do I have to install something else?
I want it to check English Australia.
Please help for I am terrible at spelling. Thank goodness Firefox checks it for me here!! lol

There is an icon denoting "ABC" on the top toolbar. just click it.OR press F7 OR try Tools>Spellcheck

Hi Thanks
I have tried to use that, It keeps saying spell check finished even if there are mistakes in the spelling, it wont correct them, It under lined the words as I typed but not now.

In Open Office, go to Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids and place a tick into the box next to " Check spelling as you type".

In addition to the above, under "Language Settings" go to "Languages" and for "Default Languages for Documents" select "English (UK)" with ABC ticked in front of it.

ABC denotes a spellchecker. An Australian spellchecker has not yet been included in Hardy Heron as far as I know.

Unfortunately there is no way to edit my previous statement so I am posting this amendment:

There is an Australian spellchecker, which for unknown reasons is not installed by default in Hardy Heron.

Open a terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and type:

sudo apt-get install myspell-en-au

Once installed, select "ABC English (Australia)" as your default language for documents.

Thanks, Andre. Your solution also got my OpenOffice 3.2 spell checker working.
Despite giving all the indications of having the English (Aus) dictionary installed, my spell checker had been unable to detect that ";KSZjxl;KSvb" was a spelling error.
