Hi,
Please answer the following questions so we can assist you more.
What version of Ubuntu and Openoffice.org are you running?
What language are you trying to have it spell check for?
Did it ever work? If so, what could have caused it to stop working? For instance, did it stop working after an update?
Thank you.

Hello,
Thanks for your help.
Here are answers to up previous questions :
I'm using Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 and Openoffice.org 2.0.2
French and english languages (spell check and synonymous)
It has never worked, even when I installed it 6 months ago.

Do not hesitate to ask me more questions if necessary.

I've already done the installation of new dictionaries, following the directions of the wizard.
However, it's still not worked.
It is like there was no "dictionnary" installed.

I've solved one part of the problem, adding language-support-fr, including myspell-fr-gut, via synaptic options.
Spell check is working for French language (fr).
However, option menu "synonymous" is grey and not reachable in tools/languages options.
When I look at tools/options/languages/languages/print, there is no possibilty to chose a synonymous dictionnary for french language option, thought there is one for english language option.
I let this question opened if somebody get an helpfull idea for french synonymous dictionnary.
