It appears in OpenOffice when you type or create .odt file. For example you
end typing a word hit space and you have to look where the cursor is.
Most often it jumps 2 lines above or to the end of the file when you you're
in the middle.

This can be Ubuntu 10.04 keyboard bug. I use Compaq Presario R3200 Athlon 32
bit computer with dual boot WinXP.

Hi Richard

Try going to the Mouse preferences (I think it's in System > Preferences but as I use 11.04 with Unity I cannot be sure its not in Admin) and on the Touchpad tab, check 'Disable touchpad while typing' and uncheck 'Enable mouse clicks with touchpad'.

See if that cures your problem.
