in open office number pages in header continued from another document

I don't understand how to set up page numbers in the header. for some of my documents I want to continue the numbering from other documents.

Hi Patricia,

The way to do it in the Writer program is to go to the insert menu-header....that will insert the header...then click inside the header to put the cursor there...then go to the insert and click fields-page number...that will insert the page number.

Hi Patricia

If you want to start at a particular page number you first need to put your cursor right at the start of the page, before any text on it.

Then go to Format > Paragraph.

Select the Text Flow tab.

In the section of that tab headed 'Breaks', check both 'Insert' and 'With Page Style'.

You can probably leave everything else as it is and just change 'Page Number' to be the page number you want to start with.
