How to manualy install from source?

How can I install ooo-thumbnailer from source to test it before package release?

I have tried running "python setup.py install" and "sudo python setup.py install" but it said:

 running install
 running build
 running build_scripts
 error: file '/home/jabellota/Proyectos/ooo-thumbnailer/ooo-thumbnailer/ooo-thumbnailer-config' does not exist

And what I see it's that this file don't come when you clone the trunk.

In Debian ooo-thumbnailer is available from repository.

You can rebuild packages using the method described here.

Note that some familiarity with the programming language you are trying to build is recommended (in this case, a basic understanding of python would be helpful)

It looks like the ooo-thumbnailer is either hardcoded to use the developer's machine, or their install scripts are not sufficiently portable.
