octave package

Release date of Octave 4.0.1?

Currently, Octave 4.0.0 is in the Xenial Xerus (16.04) repository.
Do you have any estimate if / when 4.0.1 will be available ?

If this is not the correct forum for these kind of questions, I'll appreciate any pointers on where to turn.

I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later. If the gains are slim then the package will remain as it is. In Ubuntu (and especially the LTS releases) packages remain as they are a lot longer in favour of stability. Just because a new version is available doesn't get the package updated.
