Is a new nvidia-current for 1.8 X server planned [Maverick]

Not thinking this deserves a bug report as I'm sure it's known.
So just curious if anyone knows if nvidia-current is to be redone for compatibility with the 1.8 xorg or if it may be on hold till xorg 1.9 is in place down the road.
