Most recent version of nghttp2

Asked by AnOctet

Hi *

As I see in nghttp2 has already version 1.9.1 released. In http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/nghttp2 there is still version 1.7.1

There are major fixes done between those versions: https://github.com/nghttp2/nghttp2/releases that may improve stability of the system and general implementation of HTTP/2, TLS and benchmarking tool.

Will be a recent version implemented in upcoming version of Ubuntu?

Thank you.

I am actually looking in to official repository of Xenial (http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/nghttp2) and I see an outdate version software.

root@ubuntu:~# lsb_release -a; uname -a

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XenialXerus/ReleaseSchedule for the release schedule for xenial.
Most of the freeze dates were before the release of the latest update to nghttp2 (March 27).

1.7.1 was the current version until February 25, and this is the version scheduled to be delivered with xenial, unless there is a specific reason (e.g. important bug fixes) justifying a freeze exception.

If you think that the updates from 1.7.1 to 1.9.1 are so important, then please create a bug report requesting such update.
