Ubuntu 8.10 No UMTS-Connection to Vadafone (Germany) with Huawei E220-Modem

Asked by Manfred Laun

Just got the Ubuntu 8.10 Final-Live-CD, but it's impossible to connect via UMTS-Broadband to Vadafone (D2)-Germany with my recognized Huawei E220-Modem.

But working fine with 'ASUS/Xandros 4.0' on my EeePC, also with 'Mandriva 2009-one' and 'FluxFlux (Pclinuxos) -2008-12'.

Any idea?

Thanks!

@Rolf : You are wrong in assuming that I am promoting anyone's business at all. I am just an average Ubuntu user trying to give support on these forums. I am not affiliated with any mobile Internet company.

The link I gave IS relevant to the question asked here and it IS for Ubuntu 8.10.

Better make sure you can back up your claims with proof before writing stuff like that..... which you can't.

Can you help with this problem?
