Network icon shows busy

Asked by Abu Sakib

The network icon of the network-manager-applet sometimes shows "busy", as if it's trying to connect.

I have a broadband connection on my desktop, just an ethernet cable plugged in- no wifi. I'm using a DSL/PPoE type of connection profile.

Even though I'm able to browse the internet and stream videos perfectly, the icon shows that it's "busy" trying to connect.

I'm not sure if this is a bug(of the applet) or not; I do get disconnected once in a while( which doesn't happen on "Windows") here on Ubuntu, which weirdly gets fixed after I go to my "connection profile" and hit "ok" without changing anything, but even then the icon shows busy!

I'm using Ubuntu MATE 18.04, with 4.15.0-22-generic kernel.
