Using Garmin Nuvi on Ubuntu 12.04

We use a Gamin GPS and would like to do updates on my Ubuntu 12.04 instead of Windows xp

Is there a way to do it.

If there is, please give me a detailed way please. We are not a profesional at this yet.

We see there is an add on in Fire fox for Garmin, but it only opens a directory. Now what

I dont own a Garmin, so I have no way to test this. But Google comes up with several tutorials: https://www.google.com/search?q=garmin+nuvi+ubuntu+update
