how do I undelete trash?

once you empty the trash, it's gone forever. but you might be able to retrieve it with a program called foremost.

if you just deleted material but haven't emptied the trash, you can retrieve it by clicking on places, then file, then trash, then recover.

I apologize for reiterating the question but I downloaded foremost but do
not know how to use it. Are there guides for new linux users to use this
application?

Do you mean just the bin? Remove from panel or do you mean the contents in the bin?

If you delete the Bin on the bottom right mouse button add to panel, In search box type trash click on trash and it's back.

Hey thanks for the reply. No I hastily deleted all the contents from the
bin. However I did not permanently delete the files when I emptied my trash
bin, which means they should be hiding somewhere on the drive. I downloaded
foremost application however I am not well versed in linux.

If foremost is what you want to try.

edit the /etc/foremost.conf uncomment the file types.

sudo gedit /etc/foremost
for the file types remove the # where the file is like:

# GIF and JPG files (very common)

# gif y 155000000 \x47\x49\x46\x38\x37\x61 \x00\x3b

uncomment all of the ones you need.
create a directory
mkdir special
 in you home directory (/home/username/special)
then type in a terminal
foremost -t all -o /home/yourname/speical

what did I type??
Foremost the command, -t = type -o = output area.

foremost -t all -i /dev/sda1 /home/yourname/special

foremost command, t = type, -i input, -o output (with this command you don't need to first make a directory sorry about that)
