changing icon for a particular file type

Where do i go to change the icon used for (example) .mp3 files, .jpg files, etc...
I see how to change an an individual icon, through the file properties, but how do i change this for all file types?

You can either look at

or install the program "assogiate", which is a GUI editor for gnome mime-types (file associations). Select the type of file, then select edit, then select the new icon.
