nagios 4

Nagios 4 has been out for quite some time yet all the Ubuntus only have up until 3.5.x
It seems nagios inclusion has been stalled with no clear roadmap. Will Nagios 4 ever be considered or is it just wasting away in favor of other options like icinga?

Ubuntu is usually following Debian, and as far as I can see, also Debian has only version 3.*
It would probably be better to ask at Debian about their planning to upgrade to nagios 4.*, and Ubuntu will then probably follow.
