mysql server dedicated ESX VM image or OVF

Asked by Mesut GULNAZ

i am triying to migrate all of my MSSQL systems to mysql. my server is ubuntu LTS in english. all of my tables and dbs are latin5 or utf-8 (turkish). my ubuntu server is on ESX 4.0. it is a virtual server with Fiber Disks and 8 CPU and 24 GB DDR3 RAM. the only thing i need is a special configuration for ubuntu installation (optimized installation include File Systems, services and packages) and a mysql server configuration for maximum performance. i mean buffering configs, cache configs and any other configs in my.cnf. perhaps you can send me a OVF file to use. if i can success this, i dont wanna use MSSQL serverS any more. thanks for all.

There's no such thing as a generic configuration for maximum performance. The reason why there are tunable parameters is that you can adapt mysql to different workloads and environments. The values you choose depend on your requirements.

Can you help with this problem?
