When is MySQL Server going to be updated!?

Asked by Van Stokes, Jr.

We are running 14.04 and MySQL 5.6. We need 5.6.19 to fix some GTID bugs in MySQL. 5.6.19 has now been released for 13 days and Ubuntu repository is still not updated. When can we expect the new MySQL 5.6.19 to be updated in the repository?

MySQL is one of the packages that are updated also in older Ubuntu releases (exception to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates like firefox, thunderbird, timezone information etc.). So you can expect that there will be an update. The first steps are already initiated (see the note "A newer version of mysql-5.6 is available for packaging: MySQL Server 5.6.19 " on https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6

If you want to know an exact date, you have to contact the developers, that is something that we (the supporters on answers.launchpad.net) do not know.

Maybe creating a bug document to request that version upgrade can speed up the process, if you can provide good reasoning that this should be done as fast as possible.
