kde lost desktop panel in Karmic

I was upgrading ubuntu Jaunty to Karmic and everything looking fine except windows switcher can't work. Then I try to log in KDE, but there are nothing on the screen just blank. I tried to log in back to Gnome but only background wall paper appears without panel ! How do I fix it ?

Can you press alt+f2 to get a run dialogue box?

If so you can launch a terminal and rename the plasma config files in:

.kde4/share/config/

then close the terminal and press alt+f2 again and run:

plasma

You should now have a bar at the bottom.
