does memtest86 listen to GRUB_BADRAM?

Asked by joshua pritikin

Suppose I find some range of bad memory and add an entry to GRUB_BADRAM. If I run memtest86 again, will it avoid testing the memory mentioned in GRUB_BADRAM? In other words, can I keep running memtest86 and adding entries to GRUB_BADRAM until memtest86 no longer detects any memory errors?

I tried to find the answer to this question in the documentation and by searching the web, but could not find anybody asking a similar question.

RAM is cheap. Replace the RAM.....

If it is an option then I'd imagine it would use it. If you suspect it isn't then please report a bug but it's an awful solution to anything

That doesn't answer my question.

In short, try it. If it doesn't work as expected then report a bug.

Can you help with this problem?
