Clustered LVM VG's do not enable with cman/pacemaker

We are implementing clustered LVM Volume-Groups using the standard Ubuntu packages in 12.04.1
The failure message is ;
"activation/monitoring=0 is incompatible with clustered Volume Group "VGshared00": Skipping."
Our own research has strongly pointed to the problem being this bug

Frequent and regular feedback on this issue is requested.
We need an urgent work-around if a fix is not available immediately.
