Ubuntu Jaunty Alpha 3 LTSP Client Can't login to server

Asked by Djoko

I'm sorry for my English ( is not my native language).
I install ubuntu jaunty and setting LTSP via internet (ltsp-build-client), the installation process is no problem and succes.
The problem is the client cant login to server, and this is the message on client :
Disconnecting : que, disconnect, sock, done

I also try : sudo ltsp-update-sshkeys and sudo ltsp-build-client, but they don't solve my problem.

Plase also take a look to the reported/known bugs

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ltsp

and consider to report your issue as a new bug.

Hope this helps

Tom, do you mean jaunty Alpha 4 ?
I have not downloaded and run alpha 4 for testing, but on 6-2-09 I have managed to do partial-upgrade from alpha 3 (download size about 370 MB with kernel 2.6.28-6 generic 2.6.28-6.17). I installed LTSP server after the subject partial upgrade, and proven error as i mentioned above.
With the subject partal-upgrade, is it appropriate or I have to do clean-install

Yes i think Tom was talking of Jaunty alpha4 prelease the 06 Feb 2009

Hello Ubuntu developers,

Welcome to Jaunty Jackalope Alpha-4, which will in time become Ubuntu 9.04.

Pre-releases of Jaunty are *not* encouraged for anyone needing a stable
system or anyone who is not comfortable running into occasional, even
frequent breakage. They are, however, recommended for Ubuntu developers and
those who want to help in testing, reporting, and fixing bugs.

Alpha 4 is the fourth in a series of milestone CD images that will be
released throughout the Jaunty development cycle. The Alpha images are
known to be reasonably free of showstopper CD build or installer bugs, while
representing a very recent snapshot of Jaunty. You can download it here:

  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/alpha-4/ (Ubuntu)
  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/edubuntu/releases/jaunty/alpha-4/ (Ubuntu Education Edition)
  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/jaunty/alpha-4/ (Kubuntu)
  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/releases/jaunty/alpha-4/ (Xubuntu)
  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/jaunty/alpha-4/ (UbuntuStudio)
  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-netbook-remix/releases/jaunty/alpha-4 (Ubuntu Netbook Remix)
  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-mid/releases/jaunty/alpha-4 (Ubuntu MID)

See http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Mirrors for a list of mirrors.

Alpha 4 includes a number of software updates that are ready for large-scale
testing. Please refer to http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/jaunty/alpha4 for
information on changes in Ubuntu.

This is quite an early set of images, so you should expect some bugs. For a
list of known bugs (that you don't need to report if you encounter), please
see:

  http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/jaunty/alpha4

If you're interested in following the changes as we further develop
Jaunty, have a look at the jaunty-changes mailing list:

  http://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/jaunty-changes

We also suggest that you subscribe to the ubuntu-devel-announce list
if you're interested in following Ubuntu development. This is a
low-traffic list (a few posts a week) carrying announcements of
approved specifications, policy changes, alpha releases, and other
interesting events.

  http://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-announce

Bug reports should go to the Ubuntu bug tracker:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu

Enjoy,

If you are still having trouble with this then please post it as a new question. Only the most recent questions tend to get looked at so posting/reposting a question just before america arrives online after work/school gives the best chance of getting a good few answers.
