I'm wondering if there are any plans to update the linuxptp package to version 3.0?

The packages doe linuxptp in Ubuntu have been copied from Debian, and also Debian has only version 1.9.2

The first step for getting an updated version of linuxptp into Ubuntu is creating a bug report in Debian's bug tracker.

The best way to proceed is the following:

Create a bug report in the Debian bug tracker
Create a bug report in the Launchpad bug tracker against linuxptp in Ubuntu, and add a task for linuxptp in Debian with a link to the Debian bug report
