Hi!

Sure you can do it easily. Look for a LAN (RJ45) cable, and it will work from scratch. Do everything to fix wifi, and after that...free your laptop!!

Help!
I have MSI wind U100 on Ubuntu 8.10 and I don't know how to make the wireless work. I'm currently attached to the LAN.
The camera isn't working also.

Please try installing the following wireless drivers for the MSI Wind:

If that procedure does not work, please follow this procedure:

Step 1: Open Terminal from "Applications->Accessories->Terminal"

Step 2: Run the following commands (type each then hit <enter>)

nm-tool
iwconfig
ping -c 4 google.com
ifconfig
netstat -r
sudo lshw -C network
lspci
cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist | grep 81

Step 3: Post results (cut/paste terminal output from each command) here

If I want to copy the terminal windows in text, how do I do it, if you will see my input.

I tried several times, and it also seems to go as it should.
Finally writes:
# Hardware on its own (Ubuntu bug # 2011 # 6810)

But if I try to turn on the wireless hitting Fn + F11 nothing happens.
Is there a way I can copy the entire text from the terminal so you can see it, ctrl + C does not work.

I don't know much about the wireless issues, but in ubuntu to copy to the terminal you ctrl + C the text and then right click on the terminal and select paste

Usualy, you need to stop eth0 network interface for getting IP for your ra0 correctly.
Not sure you will have the same names - but the sence should be transparent.
If you have mark RT2700E at the back side of your notebook you should use rt2860sta driver.
