Why is the lowlatency kernel not updating in tandem with generic?

When 12.04 was released, the generic and lowlatency kernels were both at v3.2.0-23 and since then have diverged. Generic continually gets updated and the lowlatency kernel remains the same version. Is there some reason for this?

I suggest you report a bug. If there is significant reasoning that you can find to update the realtime kernel it will be upgraded sooner rather than later

I talked to Andy Whitcroft who said lowlatency would be updated in a week or 2 and that further development was being done by the Ubuntu kernel team to work towards getting lowlatency releases to be as frequent as generic releases.
