would it make sense to split this package?
I observe that frequently I am forced to download a new version of this huge and constantly growing package (99MB download by now) for what are likely very small added or modified files.
I realize that being bandwidth efficient is not a design goal in the Ubuntu updating mechanism, but still I wonder whether the impact could be reduced by splitting the firmware package in multiple smaller packages by some suitable criteria (e.g. cpu, graphics, network, multimedia, other; or maybe to allow for multifunctional chips better by major vendor, like e.g. nvidia, amd, intel, netronome, qcom, other)?
Many thanks in advance for your answer.
