new build - > 4.0

Hello all,

I'm wondering if you could build an newer release of linphone. I started to do on my own but with all the codecs I noticed, this beast is huge. As you might have experience and already the build scaffolding in place, could you?

Why: in 3.6 there a awful shortcomings.

1. As far as I can see form the homepage, linphone release 4.0 has not been published yet. An upgrade to a version in development is usually not done for Ubuntu.

2. The version provided in the Ubuntu repositories (3.6.1) is already quite old; the current version for download from the linphone web pages is 3.11.1

You could create a bug report to request an upgrade of the version in Ubuntu. Please give examples of improvements and bug fixes in the newer version.

3. There are PPAs with updated versions, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=linphone for a list of candidates.
