Update to linux-image-2.6.32-22-generic is broken

When the last update with update-manager finish I receive this error message:

Configuring linux-image-2.6.32-22-generic (2.6.32-22.36) ...
Running depmod.
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-22-generic
ERROR lilo fails for new /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-22-generic:

Warning: LBA32 addressing assumed
Unrecognized token "splash" at or above line 116 in file '/etc/lilo.conf'
Failed to create initrd image.

And the dpkg stop with error code 2.

After this error, in lilo menu I only can start with Linuxold option.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64 in a Compaq CQ42BR notebook

Log a bug and boot to the older kernel.

Are you using LILO?

Yes I'm using LILO since the grub-pc stop to work after an atualization.

When I try to boot the actual Kernel, lilo stops on the "Load Linux" screen. The older Kernel boots normally.

The newer kernel with its initrd are larger then the older one and break the 15MB boundary.
You need in the lilo.conf the option "large-memory".
And please set also "lba32" in your lilo.conf.

Then run 'lilo -v' and it should run again.
