libvirt package

why do libvirt packages depend on so many ancillary packages?

there seem to be a few packages that libvirt depends on that perhaps it doesn't really need to:

dnsmasq-base
libavahi-client3
libavahi-common-data
libavahi-common3

why are the libvirt packages dependent on these? my system has a functioning dns resolver, and i have no interest in any mdns/zeroconf stuff. i'd really prefer to not have software installed that serves no purpose.

I suggest you run:

ubuntu-bug libvirt

And report a bug
