convert to microsoft word

I would like to be able to convert to Microsoft Word as a .DOC or DOCX not .TXT

If you use the popular office package libre office (which comes pre installed with ubuntu), then you can convert to ms word by clicking file, then save as and selecting microsoft word 97/2000/xp/2003 .doc from the formats drop down at the bottom, then it will save as an ms word document
