libmtp on trusty LTS way out of date.

Asked by jason0x21

I'm trying to get my phone recognized in Trusty LTS, and it turns out that libmtp is the problem. It's several revisions out of date, and while I could upgrade the whole system to Wily to get it (maybe?) to work, I'd like to get the Trusty version of the library upgraded to something current. Is this even possible? What does LTS mean in terms of library revisions? Thanks!
