Will version >=1.94 be included in Jammy?

Asked by Michael Magill

libfprint now supports 06cb:00f0, so I'm wondering if the version of libfprint included in Ubuntu 22.04 will be newer than 1.90.7

Ubuntu is copying packages from Debian (to avoid double packaging work) and also Debian has only version 1.90.7-*
Debian already knows about 1.94.1 see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/libfprint , but they have not upgraded their package yet.
I suggest that you create a bug report in the Debian bug tracker, asking that they upgrade their version. If this is done early enough, then Ubuntu will copy that version into its jammy release.

There may be PPAs, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=libfprint for potential candidates,
https://launchpad.net/~andch/+archive/ubuntu/experimental-package already has version 1.94.1 for focal.

Thank you very much! It looks like the upgrade started at Debian around the time I posted this question, so I'll hold off on the bug report.

That ppa did the trick: 06cb:00f0 works as expected. Thanks for finding it.
