In setting up the server, I first spelled prodigy, prodogy. Needless to say, that didn't work, but I couldn't figure out how to delete what it thought was server prodogy.

Hello,

Can you explain a bit more in detail where exactly in what server you spelld the name wrong?

1. Was it during the installation of the server edition? If yes which type of server did you install?
2. Did you install a package with Synaptic/apt-get/aptitude? If yes which package?

Kind Regards
Pascal

Okay. First, thanks for responding. Sorry for being so terse.

Here's the deal. I've been running MS Windows as well as a couple of Debian servers. I just installed Ubuntu desktop with it's GUI interface. I'd like to subscribe to a few helpful forums on net news. I installed klibido, net news client, and tried to point it at my net news server which is at news.prodigy.net. First, I spelled prodigy wrong so that understandably didn't work. I thought I could just muddle through based on my use of xnews with Windows, but I guess not. As I say, I'm new to Ubuntu, but like it so far. Still learning though. If there is a better news client, I'd like to know that too.

Again, thanks for helping,

Ed

As I think klibido is a KDE application there is normally a Settings menu where you can change the settings.

On the other hand as I asume you are using Gnome there is the Ubuntu Desktop Guide (https://help.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/desktopguide/C/) where they describe several applications they recommend. There under Internet they say something about Pan. I never tried it myself but it might be worth look.

Anyway if you are new to Ubuntu the Ubuntu Desktop Guide might be worth a look.

Hope this helps,

Pascal
