libraw1394.so.8 shared library error running kino on karmic

Asked by Ken Miller

I get the following error running kino under karmic:

kino: error while loading shared libraries: libraw1394.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Even after apt-get install --reinstall kino following a fresh upgrade.

I've also rebuilt kino-1.3.3 from source both using the debian build rules to include either --with-dv1394 or --without-dv1394 .

What do I need to do to get kino to run uder karmic without this error?

Thanks in advance,

Actually, problem solved. I rebuilt libavc1394-0.5.3 from source, installed it, then rebuilt kino-1.3.3 from source and installed it. Unresolved references resolved!
