firewire not working

Asked by Mai Aydinan

I looked around to see how I can use my sony dcr-hc15e camcorder in ubuntu linux and found that I can never connect it thru usb, so I got a pci firewire card.

following instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firewire, I got these on the terminal:

Quoting myself,

"I looked around to see how I can use my sony dcr-hc15e camcorder in ubuntu linux and found that I can never connect it thru usb, so I got a pci firewire card.

following instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firewire,"

I did try to find a solution elsewhere, I try not to bug the techy people here if I can help it.

This link (yours is broken)

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firewire

Indicates:

"If this guide doesn't fix your problem please login to Launchpad, run this in a Terminal:"

"ubuntu-bug kino"

If the guide did not help then you should do this and report a bug, then link it to this question.

Thanks.
