can't figure out how to launch kwalletmanager from the command-line

Asked by Zooko Wilcox-O'Hearn

The kwalletmanager dialog box pops up when I ask Konqueror to remember a password for me. But I can't figure out how to launch the kwalletmanager gui so that I can configure it (I need to reset my password, apparently). I'm using a non-KDE window manager -- xmonad. I run "kwalletmanager" from the command-line and it emits no stdout or stderr and returns immediately with exit code 0, but no gui appears. Adding the "--show" option doesn't work either.

For bonus points, instead of telling me how to launch the kwalletmanager gui from the command-line, just add a kwalletmanager command-line with which I can do all the configuration that I intend to do in the gui. ;-)

Thanks!

kwalletmanager launches the KWallet Manager in the system tray. If you don't have a system try in your window manager you can use this command to show it: qdbus org.kde.kwalletmanager /kwalletmanager/MainWindow_1 com.trolltech.Qt.QWidget.show

I don't know if this helps. In a Terminal I entered the command kwalletmanager and I got the following output:

root@linux-desktop:~# kwalletmanager
kbuildsycoca running...
root@linux-desktop:~#

Hope it helps.
