kde daemon response to external monitor

Asked by ñull

I'm trying to contribute a bug report but it is difficult to find the responsible package. Could you help me?

With my present KDE version 4.14.2 when I connect an external monitor then the "Monitor setup has changed" dialogue comes up with "A new monitor output has been connected Do you with to run a configuration tool to adjust the monitor setup?". The buttons to choose from are "Try Automatically", "Yes" and "No".

"Try Automatically" chooses display position "Clone of" by default, I choice I don't want. "Yes" leads me to "Display Settings" but these only allow me to change monitor Gamma, white balance etc., not useful when you want something different than "Clone of".

Which package is responsible for the (default) System Setting that is run when you click the "Yes" button in this dialogue? I would like "Size & Orientation" (randr) to run instead.

Which package is responsible for chosen default display position when you click "Try Automatically". I would like it to read the default that appears when you start "Size & Orientation", because apparently it remembers the last choice, at least in my version I never need to choose and just click OK to get my previous setting.

Thank you for your help and you dedication to kde!

Blessings,
René

Log it against xorg

If the devs think it needs moving then they can do this

Can you help with this problem?
