Cannot view the full filename on desktop items

I've made my desktop to display files and icons on it. When I have a longer filename the end if it is truncated. It'll be nice to have a popup telling me the full filename when I hover over it with my cursor
Selecting the file doesn't show the full name either

I think that's the "tool tips" setting. If you can find and enable that then hovering should show the full names
