i have a cannon pixma ip1800 printer and i need help istalling my printer with ubuntu 8.4 program

 I HAVE A PIXMA IP1800 CANNON PRINTER AND I NEED HELP ON HOW I CAN INSTALL THE PRINTER THAT I CAN PRINT MY RECORDS AND ELSE.

Turn off Caps Lock, is offensive, just like your are screaming or something.

The printer is USB or Parallel port ?

It's for Xubuntu, but will work in Ubuntu too.
