permissions to add drives

hal storage fixed mount all options refused uid 1000 I get this message everytime I try to access my hard drives

Is that the message you receive?
How are you trying to access the hard drive? Double clicking on it?

Also, open a console and paste here the output of the following command.

cat /etc/passwd | grep 1000

I get the same message but do not understand the answer I have a separate drive for all my files that all I want to access through Kubuntu how are drives mounted
