Upgrade to Kubuntu hosed Windows boot

I have a dual boot of Windows XP and Kubuntu using NTLDR. Recently I started up the Kubuntu OS and I saw an update available so I ran it. When I rebooted I could only boot to Kubuntu. I ran Windows recovery and I can see the XP partition and everything seems fine with it. Can I get back to NTLDR or do I need to use Grub to bring in my Windows boot? If Grub, what syntax? Thanks for the help. Larry
