Debugging too troublesome for Kubuntu
Ok, I've had plenty of plasma crashes during my time with Kubuntu, but I don't remember last time I successfully got to complete a bug report from plasma.
This is mainly due to missing files, now reading through the procedure of reporting crashes, it's just too troublesome to start, and would it work ?
clicking through the links that I'm presented with, I end up looking at a guide for 8.04 with alot of things to do, that might be too overwhelming for the average user.
It would be much more useful for the average user to simply click on the install button and the OS would take care of the rest, than to spend quite a long time doing alot of stuff just to be able to report the problem. I must confess that if the crashhandler didn't submit the crashreport for me (even after clicking on the install symbols button) I'd just cancel the reporting and let someone else report the issue.
I can understand that a crash from a 3rd party app needs alittle work
but a missing debug information for
/usr/bin/
that isn't installed using the install symbols button, is just wrong.
so would any of you, please improve the way crash reporting is being generated, so we, the average users and below, can help reporting bugs/crashes ?
If this post seems harsh, I apologize, it's not meant as that.
