DVD not playing, just reads disc then stops playback.

Asked by toadstool

I have tried Mplayer, Totem, and kaffeine. all do the same thing. I have tried to download all the mentioned codec and add-ons. How do you get back to the codecs, especailly for Kaffeine? No work, for the most part,What is up with my Linux? And also how do you get to a terminal?

you may need to install the libdvdcss library, it is able to decrypt the encryption dvd's use as copy protection (you can find out how to here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs#head-e3dafb305e64ec576176ee706e287bb4d839cb12 )

I already have Libdvdcss installed. It begins to read it then just shuts off.

this sounds like a bug to me then, you should post a bug report about it on the bug tracker.

I installed(settled) Mplayer media, SMplayer and Kaffeine. I also have video reader and anybody works. He says to me that there is
an error of reading resulting from DVD. NEVERTHELESS my DVD works in my DVD reader and it is not the case for Kaffeine and the others. FOR the video reader, he says that an error arose during the reading of this resource. I do not understand why can do not walk(work).
