Bad path to file in lame command line.

Asked by Juansolo

Hi all:
First of all, I am from Spain and I try to use all the characters in my alphabet.
When I try to rip a cd to mp3 files, I tell the program to leave the files in a directory inside "/home/juan/Música/mp3". I push the start button and an message box appears saying that there is an error while excuting lame [options] - /home/juan/MAºsica/mp3... ie changing ú for Aº. Does anybody have the same problem? Any help?
Thanks.

This could be a bug in k3b... I can't think of a solution, but hopefully this workaround will help...

1. Open the terminal
2. cd /home/juan
3. ln -s /home/juan/Música/ Music

Now you should have a symbolic link (shortcut) to /home/juan/Música called "Music" (without any extended characters). You can use that one in k3b for ripping CDs, just tell k3b to use /home/juan/Music/mp3 for ripping. This will not be a separate folder, it's just a pointer to your real Música folder.

I realize that this isn't a good solution, but I hope it will at least allow you to continue using k3b like you're used to.

Can you help with this problem?
