Can we please upgrade the JRuby package to a more relevant version?

The current JRuby is unusable and broken. Can we please upgrade to JRuby 1.6 / 1.7? I'm happy to contribute this update.

I suggest you report a bug. If the gains are significant (security fixes and so forth) the package will be upgraded sooner rather than later.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yves-raimond/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install jruby

Will get you version 1.7.0
