[Feature request] Make iptables case-insensitive

It would be great (and would make the management much easier) if the whole syntax of the iptables (and related) would be case insensitive.

I had send it there too. Do anyone know often are iptables (and related) packages are updated in the repo's ?

You also have to be aware that Ubuntu is mainly packaging already existing software for easy installation.
A request like the one that you raise should preferably be fulfilled at the original provider of the software, and after publishing a new version that has that ability, Ubuntu will start packaging that for its development release. There is no automatic update of software in older already-published Ubuntu releases.

Can you provide an example what exactly you would like to have case-insensitive?
The server names, or the words for INPUT and OUTPUT chain, or the ACCEPT or DROP values, or ...?
