"OAFIID:TomboyApplet"

When I try to add Tomboy to my gnome panel, I get:

The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:TomboyApplet".

Running Tomboy manually, I get:

Seems like a config file problem, but which config file, and what's it supposed to look like?

Since OAFIID messages aren't trivial to explore, maybe it just helps to purge and reinstall tomboy.
sudo apt-get purge tomboy
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get install tomboy
