unable to print from flies

Asked by Lorenzo Tom James

I have a hp 4200 deskjet printer which is working fine,it prints test pages from ubt,I can access all the controls and they all respond very well. However, when I try to print from a specific location(Example; a file from my Doc's folder). When I select the file in the folder and click on FILE of the particular folder Natty offers NO means to print the file, assuming I am accessing correctly.Could you please help me.

Are you trying to print from Nautilus (file explorer) or an application ?

There is no "Print" command in Nautilus contextual menu. It's different from Windows file explorer menu. You have to manually open a software to be able to print.

Select "Open" in contextual menu (right click on mouse), and in menu of opening software, choose File->Print/

You can add a nautilus script to add the feature (if you can find or make one)

Thank you for the script info,of course since I am new at this, I need to be a bit more proficient and confident in what I am doing but I have the ubt books,so I will definitely be trying to make it happen.
