which printer do you have? make and model, please.

I have the hp deskjet 2050 all-in-one j510 series

Gran the latest HPLIP from the HPLIP site and run it in a terminal as user (not sudo), should be ok

I seem to have the same problem with not working HP Deskjet 2050 j 510 , however for the past week I've tried what was suggested by Actionparsnip and it does not work on my computer on 10.10. and it did not work on 10.4 LTS moreover now USB does'nt recognise flashcard unless the printer USB is disconnected and computer restarted. The system had to be reinstalled and it took 28 hours. Narla had some suggestion but it did not work either. So it has not been solved yet
